Large Classrooms: Teaching Innovations

February 9

8:30am OR 3:30pm

CW 113

Large Classrooms: New Innovations vs Experience and the Foundations of Teaching

We are delighted to offer what will be a lively discussion about teaching and large classrooms. We'll introduce some of the new innovations - such as inter-teaching, group processes, and using online tools to engage students and guide their work.

But what we're most excited about is an opportunity to hear from Alison Hayford (both sessions) and Heather Ryan (3:30pm session only), each of whom has a lifetime of experience and knowledge about teaching. They will remind us about some of the basic foundations of teaching - and perhaps stimulate a debate about just how far we should go with some of the new and innovative ideas.

You're sure to pick up a few new ideas, and we can benefit from borrowing some of yours! Food will be served, so please RSVP by February 7 to the TDC (tdc@uregina.ca or 585-5285) to reserve your spot!

A reminder: Those who attend at least 4 sessions in 2010-11 will receive a Teaching Innovations certificate from the Centre for Teaching and Learning. This is our second last session of the year, with one more to come on March 9.
