School's for Sudan Pub Crawl

School's for Sudan Pub Crawl, Friday April 9th, 2010

Registration is at the Owl 7-9 p.m. Specials, no line, no cover Tickets $20

All proceeds from the pub crawl will also be going towards Schools For

Schools for Sudan Walk-A-Thon

What: Schools for Sudan Walk-A-Thon

When: Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 Your team can start the walk at 12:30 or 4:30 (You decide which time works best for you).

Where: Teams of 10-15 people will meet in Riddell Centre and participate in a 5K walk or run around Wascana Park

Who we are raising money for: School’s for Sudan is an ongoing project that the ESS has taken on to work towards raising enough money to build a school for underprivileged children in Sudan.

Prizes will be awarded!

Get your friends, section, or subject area together to help raise money for this great cause! Last year we raised over $6000.00! Let's beat that this year and make a difference in children's lives! If you cannot participate in the walk, you can make donations at our table in Riddell the day of the walk.

Elections are now on!

ESS elections are now on! If you are interested in joining the ESS, please pick up a nomination form on the bulletin board outside the education lounge. Forms are due MONDAY APRIL 5. Successful applicants will be contacted within three days and are to attend the first meeting with both the old and new council on Tuesday, April 13 at 7pm. See below for information on available positions.

Clothing Orders - Pick up!

Clothing orders for the Winter Semester are in! Please pick them up Monday March 29 - Wednesday March 31. An ESS representative will be at a table outside the education lounge as often as possible, but there will be a few gaps where we all have classes. If you have any issues, please email us at

Updates & Reminders

  1. Education Social; if you attended this first-time event, we would really appreciate some feedback! Do note, that we've already decided that next year's event will be the day of the Career Expo so more school districts come out, so any other comments, questions and advice would be strongly appreciated!   2. Ed Lounge; it nearing completion!! The kitchen is being finalized this week so hopefully we will be able to re-open within the next two weeks.
  3. Clothing Orders; have been ordered so anyone who has purchased clothing this year should receive an email within three weeks with a pick-up time.
  4. ESS Elections; elections for the new Education Students Society will begin in just a few short weeks. Please check out our blog for information on the different positions.
