First Year of Teaching: The Joys, the Challenges, and Hints to Make it Through

Ever hear of the first year of teaching horror stories? Well on Saturday, March 12the 2011 from 1:00 – 2:30 PM the Group of Undergraduate Education Science Students (G.U.E.S.S.) are holding a First Year of Teaching Workshop featuring:

Taryn Blyth, a first year teacher at Thom Collegiate High School

Kelly Gerein, a first year teacher at St. Alphonsus Elementary, Yorkton and

Nicole Romanow, a first year teacher at Sacred Heart Community School

These educators will be presenting their first year experiences in the field and discussing:

Expectations of yourself and your students for the first year

Preparations for the first year

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Classroom Management

The high and lows, triumphs and defeats;

And most importantly their joy of the teaching profession and how that passion has made the first year incredible so far!

Certificates will be available at the event, no need to pre-register. See you there!
