PD Event: STF Information Night

The Education Students' Society is hosting another Professional Development event for education students.

The ESS is hosting an Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (STF) Information Night that is free for all education students.

This Thursday night, March 10th, 2011 at 7:00pm the ESS is happy to have STF representatives give a presentation on what the STF is, what they do for future teachers and answer any questions that students may have. This event comes with a PD certificate for portfolios, and allows students to ask any questions they may have about the STF.

The event will be hosted in ED 191 at 7:00pm, March 10th, 2011 (Thursday).

ESS Elections

It's election time! If you would like to nominate yourself for a position on the Education Students' Society, here are the details. Nominations forms can be found on the bulletin board just outside the ed lounge (ED189) in an envelope. Forms are due on March 18, 2011. Please place them in the box on the desk inside the ed lounge labelled 'Election Forms'.


Available positions are as follows, as stated in the Constitution. Executive positions are only available to students who have already served on the ESS for at least one year and are not during their internship year. Council positions are open to anyone.

The E.S.S. Executive shall consist of the following positions:

  • President or Co-Presidents (to a maximum of 2)
  • Vice-President Academic/Professional Affairs
  • Vice-President Financial
  • Vice-President Social
  • Vice-President Communications
  • Secretary

The E.S.S. Council shall consist of the following positions:

  • Social Representatives (2)
  • Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) Representatives (4)
  • General Representatives (4)
  • Program Representatives (the following 9)
  • 1) ECEC Representative
  • 2) Elementary Representative
  • 3) Middle Years Representative
  • 4) Secondary Representative
  • 5) Arts Education Representative
  • 6) Baccalauréat en éducation Representative
  • 7) HOPE Representative
  • 8) BESS Representative
  • 9) SUNTEP Representative
  • Lounge Director
  • Mentorship Program Director
